U. S. Capitol
Rotunda

Under the most easily recognizable dome in the United States is a collection of paintings which outiline the early history of the country, along with bronze and marble statues of many great Americans. Standing in the center of the rotunda, which is the geographic center of the layout of the city streets established by L'Enfant in 1791, the echoes of past congressional filibusters can still be heard.
